The Weststadt with its 18000 inhabitants is one of the most sought-after and beautiful districts of Karlsruhe. The central axis is the Kaiserallee with its streets and squares, which were built in the Wilhelminian period and give the western part of the city a very special touch. The western part of the city offers many representative large buildings, the Academy of Arts, the General State Archive, the Higher Regional Court, the Administrative Court, the Prison, the City Hall West, some traditional schools such as the Lessing Gymnasium, the Helmholtz Gymnasium and the Gutenberg School, the Municipal Clinic, the Adult Education Centre, the Christus Church and St. Boniface Church as well as Haydn Square and Gutenberg Square with the Krautkopf Fountain, two of the most beautiful squares in Karlsruhe.
