With its 18,000 inhabitants, Weststadt is one of the most sought-after and beautiful districts of Karlsruhe. The central axis is the Kaiserallee with its streets and squares that were built in the Wilhelminian era, which give the western part of the city a very special touch. The Weststadt also offers many representative large buildings, the Art Academy, the General State Archives, the Higher Regional Court, the Administrative Court, the correctional facility, the West Town Hall, some traditional schools such as the Lessing-Gymnasium, the Helmholtzgymnasium and the Gutenberg School, the Municipal Clinic, the adult education center, the Christ Church and the Saint Bonifatius Church as well as the Haydn Square and the Gutenberg Square with the Krautkopfbrunnen, two of the most beautiful squares in Karlsruhe.
