dual studies @datarec

What is a dual degree?

In short: With a dual degree, you have the opportunity to attend a university and at the same time gain practical experience in a company or company. This is particularly useful and practical if you cannot decide after graduation whether you would rather do an apprenticeship or study. With a dual degree, you can study both: study and work at the same time! There are different models of the dual study, with some you can even not only acquire a university degree, but also also acquire an apprenticeship. This special study model combines the best aspects of training and studies: on the one hand, extensive background knowledge is given to you at the university. On the other hand, you will receive a training allowance and get to know the professional world in a company - with your so -called practice partner. As you can see, this program will become a real talent at all levels!

What is the difference between a dual training and a dual degree?

The aim of a double degree is to closely link practice and theory - similar to a dual training - and thus give the trainees the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience in the professional world while studying at a university. In this way, what has been learned can be applied and implemented directly on site in the company. The difference to classic dual training: the students do not attend a vocational or technical school for theoretical lessons, but a university or academy. There they strive for a university degree. This means that in the end you have a bachelor's degree, but not necessarily a degree in a recognized apprenticeship. However, there are also models where both are possible and at the end of the dual course of study you can acquire both a bachelor and completed vocational training.

What dual study opportunities do we offer?

The practical study

In addition to your studies - in the block or weekly model - you gain practical experience in a company, but without completing additional training. As a rule, you choose a company in which you will practically practice during your dual degree. Multi -month internships in various companies are also possible. The advantage of this dual study model is that you do not work exclusively with a training partner. You can complete the next internships in various companies, which gains experience in different areas and build up a network of contacts during your dual degree. Another advantage of the practice integrated in practice is that in addition to the lectures and seminars at the university, you do not attend any additional vocational school and thus have a little more free time in contrast to the training model.
The practice -integating dual degree is particularly suitable for:
young people at the end of their school days who do not yet have much work experience and attach great importance to a wide range of practice partners.

The career-integrated dual course of study

This model is suitable for you if you are already working but have now decided to further your education with a dual course of study.
In consultation with the company, you can reduce your working hours on your days off in order to attend your studies. Employer support is therefore a prerequisite for this dual study model. The work-integrated dual study program is exactly the right thing for you if you want to further your education but a full-time job and studying are too much for you. Since you reduce your working hours for this study model, you will of course also receive a lower salary during this time. The work-integrated dual course of study is particularly suitable for:
Employed people who want to further their education with a dual course of study - and want to reduce their working hours in the company to do so.

The part-time dual course of study

The part-time dual study program (also called a combination study program) works similarly to the work-integrated dual study program - with the difference that you do not reduce your working hours. This means that you have a normal working week in your job and at the same time complete an evening or correspondence course. The associated great burden must be taken into account. You will have very little free time during your part-time dual study program.

The advantage here:
You do not have to change your professional status and continue to receive your full salary. But the employer is also open to this double model of the course. For example, he has to take them off work for exams.
The part -time dual degree is particularly suitable for:
working people who want to train with a dual degree - and want to continue working fully in their job during the time.

What do I need for a dual study program? Do I have to have a high school diploma to complete a dual course of study?

High school diploma @marygober

In order to be admitted to a double degree course, you need the university entrance qualification, i.e. the Abitur. Please note, however, that with a technical high school diploma you can only study dual at technical colleges and vocational academies, but not at universities, which is also quite rare. Dual study programs are usually offered at universities of applied sciences.

Can I complete a dual course of study without a high school diploma?

You don't have a high school diploma or a technical college diploma? You still have a chance of getting a dual study place - if you have completed training and at least three years of professional experience or have completed further training to become a master craftsman, technician or business economist.
